Table of Silence

500 or so free rides around the sun after the canvas, maybe the time has came to look at the story from a XXI-st century’s point of view.

But as things go, a point of view is just a point of view and most probably as the free ride continues, others may come up with other opinions. This is mine!!

About the Artist

Rada Vlascici
Engineering’s my profession,
sculpture is my passion!

Motto:
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication!
Born and educated in Romania.
Migrated to Australia in 1986.

Reflections:

  1. There is nothing, everything else is energy.
  2. If death is the ultimate experience, then mediocrity is creation’s ultimate failure!
  3. Communism = Bad.
    Capitalism = Communism+1.
    Gangster Capitalism = (Communism)²
  4. Order generates disorder, disorder generates chaos, chaos generates harmony.
  5. Observe, create, do not copy.
  6. Saturation brings change.
  7. You’ll be wise when you’re not.
  8. Palaces are built from bricks; they hide them with mortar.
  9. There are no secrets, only weak minds.
  10. Nature left the book open, open your mind!

ENERGY, mother of all bricks, created a puzzle that we try to solve using tools such as science, art and whatever else comes in handy. When everything else fails, we mask our impotence behind excuses such as †, ±∞, which in my opinion, mark the frontiers where the trap of our current tools allowed us to reach.

A good deal of my work is presented in this webpage; some, I do not have access to. Whether you call this art or not, this is your judgement! My great pleasure and joy was in bringing it to life!

I can only hope that you’ll be visually pleased! Everything else is a bonus.

In Memoriam: My whole work is dedicated to the courage, strength and honour of my mother: Kurth (Vlascici) Magdalena –Leni- 1933-2004.

Point of View

This work focuses on the subjectivity and perception of “reality”.
There are many realities as there are human subjects, except for life’s fundamentals: food, air and water. Everything else …
Parallel lines, may not be parallel for the untrained subject, and illusion may become the leading belief.
Question: Is the cross The Truth or is it The Illusion?
One thing is very clear to me: The Plum bob does not lie!!!

Eucalyptus crebra (Iron bark).
Eucalyptus tereticomis (Blue Gum).
Plum bob: brass (Cu + Zn)

Work started in 1985 (Romania)
Work finished in 2000 (Australia)

Man’s World

The Gate

No matter who you think you are, sooner or later, your spiritual make up, the inner compass if you wish, must face north!

Think about it!

The Wheel

Things work in finite cycles.
Things work on different energy levels.
Do we understand them?
Will we understand them?
